There are many simple and direct ways to get to Kefalonia. Direct flights are available during the holiday season (May to October) from the United Kingdom and many European Countries.

Direct Flights

Kefalonia via Athens

Flights through Athens are available from most destinations at all times of the year and connect with an internal 45 minute flight to Kefalonia from Olympic Air, Aegean Airways or Athens Airways.

Group Pick-ups

Occasional group pick-ups can be arranged on special request from the islands of Lefkada and Zakinthos which are serviced from Preveza and Zakinthos airports respectively.

Directions from Kefalonia Airport

On arrival at the Kefalonia airport, you should make your way to Lixouri where the yacht centre is based. We can organize a taxi to meet you and transfer you directly to our location. Transfer to our yacht base, in Lixouri, is a 45 minute ride and will cost approximately €50 (4 people max) payable to driver in cash on arrival in Lixouri.

Alternatively you can take a short taxi ride (10 to 15 minutes) to the ferry boat in Argostoli which leaves every half hour foir Lixouri. The ferry crossing takes 20 minutes and costs approximately €2 per person. Tickets can be purchased inside the ferry. On arrival, disembark ferry, turn right and walk along the sea front until you get to the marina.

Other arrangements

If you are combining a shore based holiday with your sailing course and wish to explore the island, hiring a car is recommended as it is the easiest and cheapest way of getting about. We can organize car hire for you through our local travel agent. Arrangements can also be made so that your car is waiting for you at the airport.
