What is the RYA?
The RYA is the national body for all forms of boating. It is the largest and longest-established organisation to offer training, and have a global reputation for quality.
Through its recognised training centres it provides practical and theoretical training courses for all levels of competence, ranging from the complete beginner to expert levels. It also administers a number of statutory marine qualifications which are recognized globally by insures and maritime authorities as proof of competence.
As an RYA recognised training centre operating in the Mediterranean our RYA practical course are non-tidal. Certificates awarded for Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper practical courses are marked ʽnon-tidalʼ. These can be converted to tidal versions by attending a conversion course at an RYA recognised training centre based in tidal waters. There isnʼt a non-tidal version of the Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore certificate of competence and therefore candidates wishing to take their exam with us must have the necessary tidal miles and experience. Our instructor to student ratio for all of our RYA Courses is 1:5.
